Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Wednesday issued a stern warning that any discussion on power-sharing within the Congress government amounts to anti-party activity.

Addressing reporters after attending the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations at KPCC office, Shivakumar made it clear that no one has the authority to speak about a change in leadership. “There is no power-sharing issue in the government. Those discussing this, including MLA Ranganath and former MP Shivaramegowda, will be served notices,” he declared.

Shivakumar said he has directed KPCC Working President G.C. Chandrashekhar to issue notices to leaders who have spoken on the matter. “Even if someone speaks in favor of Siddaramaiah or me, it damages the party. Siddaramaiah has already clarified that the High Command’s decision is final — that stands as the last word,” he added.

He emphasized that discipline is essential for the survival of the Congress. “If there is no discipline, there will be no party. We are disciplined soldiers who follow the High Command’s directions,” Shivakumar said.

Reacting to BJP leaders’ remarks about a “November revolution” in Karnataka politics, Shivakumar hit back: “Let the BJP sort out its internal crisis. They should discuss the revolution within their own party, not ours. If they need guidance, I can send them the right doctors,” he quipped.

On BJP and RSS programs marking the RSS centenary, he said: “Their events are their concern. For us, Gandhi’s vision of unity — Ishwar Allah Tero Naam — remains our guiding principle. Our national ethos is built on harmony among Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Parsis, and Jains. BJP cannot escape this reality.”

Earlier in the KPCC Gandhi Jayanti program, Shivakumar reiterated that those defying party discipline will face action. “Notices have been directed to Ranganath and Shivaramegowda. Even senior leader G.C. Chandrashekhar will face notice if he comments on power-sharing,” he warned.
