Who is M.N. Anucheth? Tech-Savvy IPS Officer Takes Charge as Karnataka Information and Public Relations Commissioner
Bengaluru, June 25: Senior IPS officer M.N. Anucheth on Thursday assumed charge as the new Commissioner of the Karnataka Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), succeeding ADGP Hemant M. Nimbalkar, who formally handed over charge.
Senior officers of the department welcomed the new Commissioner and extended their best wishes on the occasion.
Along with his appointment as Commissioner of the Department of Information and Public Relations, the Karnataka Government has also entrusted M.N. Anucheth with the additional charge of Commissioner, Youth Empowerment and Sports Department.
M.N. Anucheth is a 2009-batch Karnataka cadre IPS officer and is widely regarded as one of the state’s technology-oriented police officers.
A native of Kolar district, Anucheth completed his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from R.V. College of Engineering, Bengaluru, in 2006. After graduating, he pursued civil services with determination and secured an excellent rank in the 2008 Civil Services Examination, leading to his induction into the Indian Police Service in 2009.
Distinguished Police Career
Anucheth began his policing career in 2011 as the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Puttur.
Over the years, he has served in several important assignments, including:
- Superintendent of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
- Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Division), Bengaluru City
- Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Bengaluru City
- Deputy Inspector General of Police (Recruitment)
Introduced AI-Based Traffic Management
During his tenure as Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Bengaluru, Anucheth played a key role in introducing Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based traffic management systems to improve traffic regulation and enforcement across the city.
His initiatives in technology-driven policing earned appreciation for enhancing traffic management and administrative efficiency.
Recipient of Union Home Minister’s Medal
Recognising his outstanding investigative work, the Government of India honoured Anucheth with the prestigious Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation, one of the highest recognitions for investigative officers in the country.
Expected to Bring Technology-Driven Reforms
Officials believe Anucheth’s strong administrative background, technology-driven approach and extensive policing experience will help bring greater efficiency and modernisation to the Department of Information and Public Relations.
Among those present during the charge-taking ceremony were Joint Directors Manjunath Dollin, Siddeshwarappa G.B., C.R. Naveen, Deputy Directors B.K. Ramalingappa, Shafi Saduddin, and other senior officers of the department.
