Bengaluru: A day after a high-speed Lamborghini drift video went viral from Anil Kumble Circle, Bengaluru Police have cracked down on the incident, seizing the luxury sports car and issuing a notice to the suspected owner, intensifying the investigation into dangerous late-night driving on city roads.

The incident, which occurred between 1 AM and 2 AM near MG Road entrance at Anil Kumble Circle, showed a Lamborghini performing multiple drift rounds before speeding away. The video quickly spread across social media, triggering public outrage over reckless driving in a busy city zone.

Taking serious note, Cubbon Park Traffic Police registered a case of dangerous and negligent driving, citing risk to public safety.

Car Traced, Seized from Sadashivanagar

Following technical tracking and field verification, the police traced the Lamborghini (KA-05 NR 0009) to a residence in Sadashivanagar and seized the vehicle.

Sources indicate that the car is linked to Rikky Rai, though officials are yet to officially confirm ownership due to incomplete and inconsistent RTO records.

Ownership Mystery Deepens

Police have written to the RTO seeking detailed ownership records, as initial B-extract data reportedly lacks clarity. Investigators are now relying on:

  • CCTV footage
  • Social media video analysis
  • Local intelligence inputs

to identify who was behind the wheel during the stunt.

Was Rikky Rai Driving?

Preliminary inputs suggest that Rikky Rai may have been present in the car at the time of the incident. However, officials have not confirmed whether he was driving, stating that verification is underway.

A formal notice has been issued, directing him to appear for questioning.

Zero Tolerance for Reckless Driving

Police officials reiterated that such acts of drifting on public roads—especially during night hours—pose a serious threat to lives and will not be tolerated, regardless of the vehicle’s value or the individual’s status.

“Having money and luxury cars does not give anyone the right to endanger public safety,” a senior officer said.

What Happens Next?

With the car now in police custody and forensic verification of visuals ongoing, authorities are expected to:

  • Confirm the driver’s identity
  • Initiate legal proceedings under traffic and criminal laws
  • Crack down on similar stunt-driving incidents across Bengaluru
