Bengaluru: A driver escaped in time after a moving car caught fire near Sparsh Hospital on Cunningham Road on Saturday morning. No casualties were reported.
Smoke and flames began emerging from the engine around 9:40 AM as the vehicle passed the hospital, according to the traffic police account quoted in the report.

Flames spread despite attempts to put them out
The driver stepped out immediately. People nearby tried to extinguish the flames, but the fire spread quickly and engulfed the car, leaving it severely damaged.
Fire and emergency services personnel reached the spot and assessed the situation.
Cause yet to be established
The cause of the fire had not been established. Officials were examining whether a battery malfunction, short circuit or another technical fault was responsible.
