Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar meets Czech Deputy Prime Minister Karel Havlíček in Bengaluru.
Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has urged Czech companies to consider investments across the state’s districts, saying Karnataka can become a long-term partner in manufacturing, technology and research.
Shivakumar made the pitch during a meeting at Vidhana Soudha with a delegation led by Czech Republic Deputy Prime Minister Karel Havlíček. He highlighted opportunities in agriculture, horticulture, floriculture, forestry, energy and advanced manufacturing.
The Chief Minister said Karnataka’s large energy requirements, major solar projects and older hydropower stations offered room for cooperation and investment. He also pointed to opportunities in automobile components, electric and next-generation vehicles, testing, specialised manufacturing and aerospace.
The state government, he said, would support investors through Invest Karnataka, Karnataka Udyog Mitra, KIADB and the single-window clearance system. The government’s priority would be investments that bring technology, strengthen local industry, create quality jobs and expand exports.
Shivakumar said the Czech Business Incubator, CzechTrade’s Bengaluru office and industrial clusters could help identify partners and investment opportunities. He also called for closer links between universities, research institutions and skill-development networks.
India and the Czech Republic entered a Strategic Partnership on Innovation in January 2024, providing a broader framework for cooperation in technology and research.
