Step up medical oxygen supplies, govt tells producers

Date:

BENGALURU:

The state government has directed manufacturers of liquid oxygen to step up production and supply of liquid oxygen to hospitals, in view of its crucial importance to Covid patients.

A circular issued on Wednesday by Gaurav Gupta, Secretary (Commerce and Industries), says it has been noticed that there is a delay in supply of liquid oxygen to hospitals, which is tantamount to denial of medical oxygen for critical patients and in turn amounts to a violation of the law.

Further, all hospitals/medical institutions/refilling units should contact the Assistant Drugs Controllers of the respective area to resolve any issue related to short supply of medical oxygen. Contact details of the Assistant Drugs Controllers of the respective area are available on drugs.kar.nic.in
