In a humanitarian effort mediated by Qatar, two young girls have been successfully returned to Russia from Ukraine, a move celebrated by Russian children’s commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova. The sisters were separated from their mother due to the ongoing conflict, living with their grandparents in Ukraine while their mother worked in Russia.
