Bengaluru, March 12: Preparations have been completed for the release of the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, one of the flagship welfare programmes of the Union Government aimed at supporting farmers across the country.

Prime Minister will release the 22nd installment of PM-KISAN funds on March 13, 2026, at 5:00 PM during a national event in Guwahati, Assam, where financial assistance will be transferred directly to farmers across India.

In Karnataka, a total of 41,40,106 farmers are set to benefit from the scheme, with the Central Government releasing ₹828.02 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) directly into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries.

The PM-KISAN scheme was officially launched on February 24, 2019, with retrospective effect from February 1, 2019, to provide financial support to eligible farmer families for agricultural activities.

Under the scheme, eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 annually, which is distributed in three installments of ₹2,000 each at intervals of four months to support expenses related to seeds, fertilizers, and other agricultural inputs.

The March 13 programme will also be observed as “PM-KISAN Utsav Diwas”, and arrangements have been made for the event to be viewed via video conferencing at district and taluk headquarters across Karnataka. Local public representatives and officials from the Agriculture Department are expected to participate.

Officials have advised all eligible farmers to ensure that their e-KYC process is completed to avoid any delays in receiving the installment. Farmers can check their status and obtain further details by visiting the official PM-KISAN website – pmkisan.gov.in, according to a release issued by the Additional Director of Agriculture (Information).
