Mantri Mall pays Rs 5 crore in property tax dues
According to BBMP, Malleswaram mall had not paid property taxes since 2018-19
BENGALURU:
After nearly four years, BBMP has managed to collect property tax arrears to the tune of Rs 5 crore from Mantri Mall.
Abhishek Developers, owners of Mantri Mall located in the Gandhinagar revenue sub-division, BBMP West zone, had not paid property taxes since 2018-19.
Earlier cheque bounced
For 2018-19, a chegue for Rs 10,43,81,045 drawn on Canara Bank (cheque No. 087643) was given but it bounced due to insufficient balance in the account. In this connection, a court case (No.16168/2021) was filed.
Several notices were issued to the mall, and on Thursday, Joint Commissioner (West) Shivaswami and revenue officials visited the mall. Subsequently, the mall management have issued a DD for of Rs 5,00,00,000 along with a letter stating that the remaining property tax dues will be paid by October 31, 2021.
