Major Political Development Likely in Karnataka by November, Says BJP State Chief BY Vijayendra
Bengaluru/Mysuru: BJP state president and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra has hinted at a significant political development in Karnataka by November, suggesting that the Congress government may face internal turmoil over its leadership arrangement.
Speaking to the media in Mysuru, Vijayendra responded to speculation over a potential change in the Chief Minister’s post, stating that “every strategy and conspiracy has its expiry date.” He claimed that the Congress party’s own leaders have admitted to a 2.5-year power-sharing agreement between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar, brokered by the party high command. âNow, the circumstances are ripe for a resignation,â Vijayendra remarked.
Vijayendra accused the Congress-led state government of failing to deliver any meaningful progress in the past two and a half years. âThe administration has collapsed, and the government is squeezing even street vendors for GST while struggling to fund its own guarantee schemes,â he alleged. He added that the BJP is functioning effectively as an opposition and is satisfied with its current performance.
Highlighting BJPâs inclusive record, he noted: âWe elected Ram Nath Kovind, a Dalit, as the President of India and then Droupadi Murmu, a tribal woman. In contrast, the Congress disrespected former CM Devaraj Urs by ousting him from officeâa fact the people of Karnataka havenât forgotten, even if Siddaramaiah has,â he said.
Vijayendra accused Siddaramaiah of using AHINDA voters as a political tool without genuinely working for their welfare. âHis rhetoric about social justice is exposed. He couldn’t ensure any justice for AHINDA communities. Remember how he campaigned with the Kantharaju report, only to discard it on Rahul Gandhiâs orders?â Vijayendra asked.
He concluded that Siddaramaiah is clinging to power and using populist events and identity politics to retain his chair. âThe mask has slipped. People now see through the politics of appeasement and betrayal,â he said.
