JD(S) Criticises Removal of ‘Kannadiga’ Sticker from BMTC Bus, Seeks Action
Bengaluru: Janata Dal (Secular) has criticised the alleged removal of a ‘Kannadiga’ sticker from a BMTC bus, accusing an official of adopting an anti-Kannada stance.
In a post on X, the party questioned why the word ‘Kannadiga’ should be objected to when the government permits advertisements by private organisations on BMTC buses.
The party also questioned whether the State government was acting in the interests of Kannadigas and demanded immediate action against the official concerned.
JD(S) urged the Karnataka government to stop actions that it said hurt the self-respect of Kannadigas. The claims were made by the party in its post on X, and there was no immediate response from the government.
