IAF Medical Training Centre in Bengaluru Hosts Tri-Services Seminar on Modernising Primary Healthcare for Modern Warfare
Bengaluru, August 18: The Indian Air Force’s Medical Training Centre (MTC) in Bengaluru conducted its 8th Allied and Healthcare Seminar on August 17 and 18, focusing on modernising primary healthcare in the Defence Forces to meet the demands of modern warfare.
The seminar, themed ‘Modernization of Primary Healthcare in Defence Forces to meet the Modern War Scenario’, was aimed at giving Medical Assistants a comprehensive overview of measures required to strengthen frontline medical preparedness amid evolving operational challenges.
According to MTC, the seminar is the only event of its kind for the continuing medical education of Medical Assistants within the Defence Forces and is conducted specifically for Medical Assistants by Medical Assistants.
Air Vice Marshal SGS Datta, Principal Medical Officer, Headquarters Training Command, inaugurated the seminar on August 17. Around 200 allied and healthcare professionals from the Indian Air Force, Indian Army and Indian Navy attended the event, along with delegates from the Karnataka State Allied and Healthcare Council.
Over the two days, scientific sessions and discussions covered strengthening primary healthcare infrastructure across the three Services, human resource development and training in defence healthcare, and operational, combat and disaster preparedness in primary healthcare.
The seminar also provided participants an opportunity to interact with experts, exchange best practices and discuss innovative approaches to challenges facing primary healthcare in the context of modern warfare.
