Bengaluru: Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) patriarch H.D. Deve Gowda has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 75th birthday, stating that Modi has “broken the myth” that only the Congress party could keep India united and stable.

In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, Gowda noted that Modi’s leadership has ensured socio-economic stability and brought a “distinct mood change” to the nation over the last decade. “You have proved that this nation has a rich pool of talent, and with dedication and sincerity, better solutions are possible. You have opened up new possibilities for our democracy and placed unwavering faith in its future,” Gowda said.

The veteran leader added that Modi’s tenure has instilled new confidence among Indians about their cultural identity and independence, showcasing India’s civilizational strength before the world. According to Gowda, this resurgence is playing a vital role in taking India to “unimaginable heights.”

Gowda further remarked that Modi has converted military and economic challenges into opportunities, ensuring that India no longer pleads for aid but negotiates with world powers on equal terms. He lauded the “Nation First” slogan as more than rhetoric, calling it a reflection of India’s growing global confidence.
