Cops seize 50 kg marijuana meant for sale in Mangaluru
CHIKKAMAGALUR:
The police have arrested four persons,who were transporting 50 kg of marijuana in a car, near the Melupete mosque in Mudigere taluk of the district.
The accused are Mohid Khan of Belur taluk of Hassan district and Akbar Pasha, Shahid Khan and Prabha of Mudigere taluk of Chikkamagalur district. The seized marijuana has been valued at Rs 12 lakh.
According to the cops, a group of 10 brought 80 kg of marijuana from Palaru in Visakhapatnam of Andhra Pradesh. 30 kg was sold in Hassan and Sakleshpur, and the remaining 50 kg was to be sold in Mangaluru.
Following a tip-off, Police Inspector Rakshit, PSI Ramya and the Gonibidu police apprehended the accused.
