Bengaluru, May 29: The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) will undertake emergency repair work on a major leak in a 600 mm diameter Cauvery Stage-II main drinking water pipeline on May 30, resulting in temporary disruption of water supply in several localities under the Mysuru Road service area.
BWSSB Chairman Dr. Ram Prasath Manohar said the repair work is scheduled to commence at 9 am on Saturday, May 30. Water supply to several areas will remain affected for approximately eight hours until the completion of the maintenance work.

According to BWSSB, the damaged pipeline, which supplies nearly 14 MLD (Million Litres per Day) of drinking water to Mysuru Road service areas through the South End Circle network, has developed a major leak near Hanumanthanagar Police Quarters.
The leakage has resulted in treated drinking water gushing out under high pressure, causing significant wastage of water and creating inconvenience and safety concerns for motorists and pedestrians using the stretch.
To prevent further water loss and ensure public safety, BWSSB will temporarily shut down a 24-inch valve located near Surana College on South End Road for eight hours and carry out emergency repair work on a war footing.
The following areas are expected to face disruption in drinking water supply during the shutdown period:
• Kasturba Nagar
• Bapuji Nagar
• Shamanna Garden
• Manjunath Nagar
• Hosaguddadahalli
• Haleguddadahalli
• Arafath Nagar
BWSSB has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to residents due to the emergency maintenance work.
The Board has assured citizens that normal water supply will be restored immediately after the repairs are completed and has appealed to consumers and residents to cooperate during the temporary disruption.
