Bengaluru: A tragic incident unfolded near Chinnaswamy Stadium as at least eleven individuals lost their lives and numerous others sustained injuries during a chaotic stampede. The crowd had gathered to celebrate the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) victory, according to official sources.
In an effort to manage the overwhelming influx of fans, police were compelled to use mild force to restore order ahead of a special felicitation ceremony for the RCB team, organized by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA).

Eyewitness accounts describe a stampede-like situation as fans surged toward the venue. Disturbing visuals captured the scene, showing police officers transporting the injured and those who had lost consciousness to nearby hospitals in ambulances. Some individuals were seen administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to those in distress, highlighting the urgency of the situation.
Crowd management proved challenging for law enforcement as a significant number of cricket enthusiasts attempted to enter the stadium simultaneously. In light of the overwhelming turnout, the Bengaluru police issued a traffic advisory, stating that entry to Chinnaswamy Stadium would be restricted to individuals with valid tickets and passes.

The advisory also emphasized the limited parking facilities available near the stadium, urging attendees to utilize public transportation and the Metro system. “We kindly request the public’s cooperation in ensuring a safe and orderly event,” the advisory concluded.
