Bengaluru: Seven of the 10 complaints received at the Bengaluru North City Corporation’s solid waste management phone-in on Tuesday were about garbage collection vehicles not arriving on time, the corporation said.
The other three were about garbage dumped in public places (two) and in a vacant site (one). All 10 calls were registered as grievances at the fourth such programme, held under the guidance of Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar.
49 of 60 grievances resolved since October 13
Since the phone-in programmes began on October 13, the corporation has received 62 calls and registered 60 grievances. Of these, 49 have been resolved and 11 remain pending, and officials have been told to resolve the pending complaints within the stipulated timeframe.
When to call
The waste phone-in is held every Tuesday from 7:30 am to 9:30 am for complaints about garbage collection schedules, collection vehicles not arriving, pourakarmika services and waste disposal. The Commissioner’s regular phone-in on other civic issues continues every Friday. The control-room numbers are listed in our earlier report on the phone-in.
Micro-planning in seven divisions
Block-wise micro-planning is being implemented across all seven divisions of the corporation, prioritising door-to-door collection, route mapping for auto tippers, street mapping of pourakarmikas and the management of bulk waste generators, the corporation said.
Additional Commissioner (Revenue in-charge) and Joint Commissioner Pallavi, Joint Commissioner Mohammed Naeem Momin, Deputy Commissioner Somashekhar and DGM Rashmi were among the officials present.
