BENGALURU:
The state saw 322 new infections and 8 deaths on Tuesday, raising the respective tallies to 9,721 and 150. On the same day, 274 patients were discharged statewide.
The total number of positive cases includes 150 deaths and 6,004 discharges. As per the health department bulletin, out of 3,563 active cases, 3,443 patients are in designated hospitals while 120 are in ICUs.
Of the day’s deaths, 6 are from Bengaluru Urban and one each from Dakshina Kannada and Ballari. All of them had a history of ILI or SARI.
The Bengaluru victims are four men aged 40 to 81, and two women aged 47 and 85. The Dakshina Kannada victim is a 70-year-old man and the Ballari deceased is an 85-year-old woman.
Of Tuesday’s new cases, 64 are interstate returnees and 5 are overseas returnees. The others include patients with ILI/SARI and contacts of earlier positive cases.
Tuesday’s case break-up is: Bengaluru Urban 107, Ballari 53, Bidar 22, Mysuru 21, Vijayapura 16, Yadgir 13, Udupi 11, Gadag 9, Dakshina Kannada and Kolar 8 each, Hassan 7, Kalaburagi 6, Chikkaballapur and Shivamogga 5 each, Dharwad, Tumakuru, Koppal and Chamarajanagar 4 each, Raichur and Uttara Kannada 3 each, Mandya, Belagavi, Davanagere and Haveri 2 each, and one from Kodagu.
Bengaluru Urban leads in positive cases with 1,505, followed by Kalaburagi with 1,232 and Udupi with 1,088.
Udupi leads in discharges with 969, followed by Kalaburagi with 779 and Yadgir with 567.
Cumulatively, 5,26,538 samples have been tested, of which 10,569 were tested on Tuesday. Approximately 5,03,734 samples have come negative, including 9,813 on Tuesday.
