Bengaluru Administration Clears Illegal Encroachments Worth ₹46.15 Crore; Over 4 Acres of Government Land Reclaimed
Bengaluru: In a major anti-encroachment drive, the Bengaluru district administration cleared illegal occupations on government land worth approximately ₹46.15 crore and reclaimed over 4 acres and 14 guntas of public property across multiple taluks in the district.
The operation was carried out under the leadership of Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner G. Jagadeesha, with tahsildars from various taluks conducting coordinated eviction drives in their respective jurisdictions.
Encroachments Cleared Across Bengaluru
Officials targeted encroachments on government-owned land categories including:
- Burial grounds
- Grazing land
- Government groves
- Lakes
- Kharab land
The eviction operations were conducted across Bengaluru East, South, North and Anekal taluks.
Bengaluru East Taluk
In Valepura village of Varthur Hobli:
- Survey No. 12
- Extent cleared: 10 guntas
- Estimated value: ₹1 crore
In Nallurahalli village of KR Puram Hobli:
- Government grove land in Survey No. 12
- Encroachment cleared over 8 guntas
- Estimated value: ₹1 crore
Anekal Taluk
In Bilyaradahalli village of Jigani Hobli:
- Government lake land in Survey No. 25
- Extent cleared: 1 acre 11 guntas
- Estimated value: ₹3.10 crore
Bengaluru South Taluk
In Nyanappanahalli village of Begur Hobli:
- Kharab rocky land in Survey No. 39
- Extent cleared: 38 guntas
- Estimated value: ₹5 crore
In Channasandra village of Uttarahalli Hobli:
- Grazing land in Survey No. 22
- Extent cleared: 1 acre
- Estimated value: ₹10 crore
In Halagevaderahalli village of Kengeri Hobli:
- Survey No. 203
- Extent cleared: 9 guntas
- Estimated value: ₹24 crore
Bengaluru North Taluk
In Kammasandra and Kittanahalli villages of Dasanapura Hobli:
- Encroachments on grazing and public utility land under Survey Nos. 149 and 81
- Extent cleared: 18 guntas
- Estimated value: ₹2.05 crore
Officials Present During Drive
Additional Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesh K. Nayak, officials from the Deputy Commissioner’s office and respective tahsildars were present during the eviction operations.
The district administration stated that strict action against illegal occupation of government property will continue in the coming days.
