Bagalkot resident, 75, dies after testing positive
BENGALURU:
Amid the looming implications of a large number of Tablighi Jamaat returnees in Karnataka testing positive, the state on Friday night registered the 4th Covid-19 death, in Bagalkot district.
The deceased was identified as a 75-year-old male, listed as patient number 125 on Friday afternoon after he was found positive.
As per the media bulletin released by the Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Department, the deceased did not have any travel history. “The case is isolated and detailed investigation is underway,” the bulletin said.
Meanwhile, Bagalkot district Deputy Commissioner Captain Rajendra confirmed the death of the 75-year-old and said that he was a ‘kirana”merchant.
As per TV reports, the deceased’s son and daughter-in-law had travelled from Bengaluru to Bagalkot 10 days back. Officials said the cremation will be done as per guidelines issued by the government.

March 10: First death in country of 76-year-old from Kalaburagi district.
March 26: Gauribidanur woman, 75 years old, died in a Bengaluru hospital.
March 27: 65-year-old male from Sira town died in the Tumkur district hospital.
