BENGALURU:
On top of the coronavirus woes, tremors in parts of Kodagu and Hassan districts have terrified the locals.
People felt the earth shaking in some parts of Arakkalguda taluk in Hassan district. Land in the surrounding villages of Galenadhalli and Garudanahalli also felt the tremors.
At 5.20 pm on Friday, tremors were felt in many places, including Kushalanagar, Koodi and Hebele in Kodagu district. KR Nagar, part of the Mysuru-Hassan region, experienced tremors in the Arakkalguda range. At 5.30 pm, the Harangi and Bengaluru seismograph centres reported a 2.6 magnitude temblor.
Mysuru city too
People in Mysuru city came out on the streets after they felt the ground shake on Friday.
The temblor registered 2.6 and 3.2 at the Centre for Seismology, Ooty. Sources from the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Investigation Centre said that its focal point was on Arakkalaguda- KR Nagar border.
The shaking was also experienced in the surrounding villages of Mysuru like Saligrama, Ankanahalli, Chunchanakatte, Hosur, Thandre, Karpooravalli and Katnal.
