8 new cases, Karnataka Covid count 41

Karnataka saw another frightening single-day record of eight confirmed coronavirus cases on Tuesday, bringing the total number in the state to 41.

Bengaluru city has the highest number with 24 positive cases, Kalaburagi district has three cases and one death, Chikamagalur has three, Mysuru and Uttar Kannada have two positive cases each, Dharwad and Kodagu districts have one each, and Dakshin Kannada has five positive cases.

Tuesday’s eight new cases are as follows:

Patient 34: 32-year-old male resident of Kasargod, Kerala. Had a history of travel to Dubai and arrived at Mangaluru on 20th March. He was directly quarantined at the designated hospital in Mangaluru.

Patient 35: 40-year-old male resident of Uttara Kannada. Had a history of travel to Dubai and arrived in India on 21st March. He is isolated in the designated hospital in Uttara Kannada district.

Patient 36: 65-year-old male resident of Uttara Kannada. Had a history of travel to Dubai and arrived at Mumbai on 18th March, and travelled to Uttara Kannada by train. He is isolated at the designated hospital in Uttara Kannada District.

Patient 37: 56-year-old female resident of Chikkaballapur district. Family member and co-passenger of P19 and P22. Had a history of travel to Mecca, Saudi Arabia and arrived at Hyderabad on 14th March. She is isolated at the designated hospital in Chikkaballapur.

Patient 38: 56-year-old female resident of Bengaluru and contact of P13. She isolated at the designated hospital in Bengaluru.

Patient 39: 47-year-old male resident of Kasargod, Kerala. Had a history of travel to Dubai and arrived at Mangaluru. He is isolated at the designated hospital in Mangaluru.

Patient 40: 70-year-old female resident of Kasargod, Kerala. Had a history of travel to Saudi Arabia and arrived at Mangaluru. She is isolated at the designated hospital in Mangaluru.

Patient 41: 23-year-old male resident of Kasargod, Kerala. Had a history of travel to Dubai and arrived on 20th March at Mangaluru. He is isolated at the designated hospital in Mangaluru.

(Note: Out of 41 cases detected and confirmed in Karnataka so far, 6 cases are transit passengers of Kerala who have landed in airports in Karnataka and are being treated in Karnataka.)
