BENGALURU:
In a major development, the state government has decided to discontinue the practic of home quarantine of suspected Covid-19 cases. Henceforth, such cases will be monitored in the presence of health officials at specified locations.
Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar made this announcement after inspecting preventive measures at Kempegowda International Airport and at Akash Hospital at Devanahalli where suspected cases will be quarantined.
“There may be few lapses when suspected patients are kept under home quarantine. Hence it was decided to monitor such patients in the presence of health officials. Shortly guidelines will be issued after consulting health officials and the police department,” Sudhakar said.
He said health department officials are working in three shifts screening passengers at the International Airport.
