Bengaluru: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rainfall across Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, and several parts of Karnataka for the next three days.
Districts placed under alert include Chikkaballapur, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagara, Kolar, Yadgir, Gadag, Raichur, Bagalkot, Koppal, Dharwad, Ballari, Vijayanagara, Haveri, Davanagere, Shivamogga, Chitradurga, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Tumakuru, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Mysuru, and Mandya.

The forecast predicts intense rainfall accompanied by strong winds, which have already caused damage in several areas. In Bengaluru, multiple incidents of fallen electricity poles and disrupted power lines have been reported due to the recent downpour.
According to officials, the damage to power infrastructure has resulted in losses of approximately ₹87.32 lakh for BESCOM. Restoration work is currently underway across affected areas.
Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious, avoid waterlogged zones, and stay away from damaged electric poles and wires during the adverse weather conditions.
