Bengaluru, March 15: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced that a letter has been sent to the central government urging them to explore alternative sources for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supply from abroad to alleviate the ongoing shortage. He made this statement while addressing the media in Bengaluru today.
In response to journalists’ inquiries regarding the disruptions in LPG supply, Siddaramaiah noted that the government has already provided answers in the legislative assembly. He emphasized the significant reliance of the population on hotels for food, stating that if hotel operations were to be halted, it would severely disrupt daily life. He mentioned that Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has assured that measures are being taken to ensure there are no further issues with LPG supply.
Reacting to criticism from BJP leaders who claim that LPG supply is a major issue only in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah urged the state BJP to take action for increased LPG supply instead of merely commenting on the situation.
