Siddaramaiah’s Development Grants for Mysuru Exceed Even Royal Legacy, Says Son and MLC Dr. Yathindra
Mysuru/Bengaluru: Member of Legislative Council Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah, son of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, strongly defended his father’s record on Mysuru’s development, stating that the grants allocated by the Congress government under his leadership either match or exceed the contributions made by the erstwhile Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar.
Addressing reporters, Dr. Yathindra dismissed opposition criticisms that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had done “nothing” for Mysuru, particularly during the recent Sadhana Samavesha. He said such statements were politically motivated and lacked factual basis.
“Opposition parties keep asking what my father did for Mysuru. If you truly compare the development works sanctioned under Siddaramaiah’s tenure, no other government has delivered as much. Apart from the grants provided under his leadership, no new major development funds have come to Mysuru. It’s either equal to or more than what Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar gave to the city,” Dr. Yathindra asserted.
He further added that attempts by opposition leaders to personally target Siddaramaiah with false allegations, baseless criticism, and individual attacks will not succeed. “Truth always comes out. Personal smears won’t weaken him — in fact, they’ll only make him stronger,” he remarked.
Calling on the opposition to focus on constructive politics, Dr. Yathindra said it was time to move beyond personal vendettas and work toward real issues through democratic debate. “Do politics in the political arena, not through personal attacks,” he urged.
