Bengaluru: A 46-year-old man was found dead inside a parked Audi in Bengaluru’s Koramangala on Sunday morning, around 400 metres from the local police station, prompting police to register an Unnatural Death Report (UDR) and begin an investigation.
The deceased has been identified as Salim Akbar, a native of Kodagu district.
According to police officials, local residents noticed a man sitting unresponsive inside the car and alerted the control room at around 8 am. A police team subsequently reached the spot and confirmed that Akbar had died.
As part of the preliminary investigation, police examined CCTV footage from the surrounding area. The footage showed that the Audi had arrived and stopped in front of Sagar Fast Food in Koramangala 8th Block at approximately 2.30 am.
Akbar was later found unresponsive inside the same vehicle in the morning.
Preliminary findings indicate that the death may have resulted from sudden health complications. Police have not found indications of foul play at this stage of the investigation.
However, investigators have not reached a final conclusion on the cause of death. The exact cause will be determined only after the post-mortem examination and forensic analysis, officials said.
Koramangala police have registered a UDR in connection with the death. Akbar’s family has been informed, while further investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is underway.
