State death toll 16, total cases 390
BENGALURU:
Covid deaths in Karnataka have gone up to 16 with two fatalities reported in the last 24 hours, one of them from the state capital, Bengaluru.
As per the health department media bulletin, the Bengaluru-based woman was patient 281, a 65-year-old who had a history of SARI and died on April 19.
While another woman is named patient 390, a 50-year-old resident of Dakshina Kannada district died of SARI.
Sources said patient 390 does not have any travel history though her son had returned from Dubai. Health officials have decided to qurantine the other family members and their samples have been sent for tests.
Bengaluru Urban district tops the table with 4 deaths and 89 positive cases, of which 41 are active, while Kalaburagi district has reported 3 deaths and 16 active cases.
Mysuru district stands second with 84Â positive cases of which 60 are active, while Belagavi district has reported one death from 42 positive cases — all of them active.
