Bengaluru: In a significant development for commuters in Karnataka, the Railway Board has granted approval for a halt of the Wodeyar Express at Ramanagara. The move comes after sustained efforts and discussions led by Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna.
Officials confirmed that the formal inauguration of the halt will be scheduled once the Union Minister allocates time for the same. The decision is expected to benefit passengers traveling between Bengaluru and Mysuru, particularly those from Ramanagara district.
Meanwhile, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy, along with Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna, conducted a joint window trailing inspection from KSR Bengaluru’s Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station to Mysuru. Discussions were also held regarding pending railway projects in Mandya, Ramanagara, and Mysuru Lok Sabha constituencies, with an emphasis on expediting their completion and improving rail connectivity in the region.
