Summer Rush Relief: Weekly Special Trains Announced Between Mumbai and Bengaluru

Bengaluru: In a move to manage the surge in passenger demand during the summer season, Central Railway has announced the operation of weekly special trains between Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) and Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT), Bengaluru.

Train No. 01013 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – SMVT Bengaluru Weekly Express Special will depart from Mumbai at 11:50 hrs every Sunday from April 19, 2026, to July 12, 2026, and arrive in Bengaluru at 11:45 hrs on Monday.

In the return direction, Train No. 01014 SMVT Bengaluru – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Weekly Express Special will depart from Bengaluru at 13:50 hrs every Monday from April 20, 2026, to July 13, 2026, reaching Mumbai at 13:30 hrs on Tuesday.

A total of 13 trips will be operated in each direction during this period.

The trains will halt at key stations including Thane, Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Satara, Karad, Sangli, Miraj, Raybag, Ghatprabha, Belagavi, Londa, Dharwad, SSS Hubballi, Haveri, Harihar, Davangere, Chikjajur, Birur, Arsikere, and Tumakuru in both directions.

The train will comprise 22 coaches, including AC, Sleeper, General, and SLRD coaches, catering to different categories of passengers.

Railway officials stated that the special service aims to ease travel pressure during peak summer months and provide additional connectivity between Maharashtra and Karnataka.
