Speaking at the ceremony in the presence of Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel, Karnataka Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, and Mysuru MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the President said:

“Kannada or Karnataka language may not be my mother tongue, but every Indian language, every culture, every tradition is dear to me. I respect and honour all. I appeal to everyone to preserve their languages, heritage, and traditions. I myself will try to learn Kannada, little by little. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.”
