Karnataka fatalities 29, total cases 673
‘Green Zone’ Davanagere district is on the verge of being ‘demoted’ as another death was reported on Tuesday alongwith 12 positive cases, while another death was registered from Vijayapura district. Altogether 22 positive cases were reported in the state, and Karnataka’s death toll touched 29.
A 62-year-old woman from Vijayapura became the 28th COVID-19 fatality in Karnataka. “P-640 of Vijayapura, known case of COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and BA (Bronchial Asthma), was admitted on 03.05.2020 to the ICU of the Designated Hospital, Vijayapura with a complaint of breathlessness. Died on 05.05.2020 due to acardiac arrest,” the evening bulletion of the state health and family welfare department reads.
Another death was reported from Davanagere. “P-662, 50 years, female resident of Davanagere with complaint of breathlessness (diagnosed as SARI) died on 05.05.2020 at the Designated Hospital, Davanagere.”
The bulletin said the state has reported 22 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking Karnataka’s tally to 673. This includes 331 discharges.
The new cases include three from Bengaluru Urban, two from Bagalkot, and one each from Ballari-Dakshina Kannada, Bhatkal-Uttara Kannada, Savanur in Haveri and Dharwad.
