In its struggle to curb the spread of Covid-19 in Bengaluru, BBMP has faced its own casualties with the deaths of two staffers — a Deputy Revenue Officer and a work inspector, who could not survive the assault of the dreaded virus.
Muniyappa (58), a resident of Anekal, was working as Deputy Revenue Officer in Bommanahalli zone. On Thursday, he breathed his last in Kauvery Hospital in Electronics City.
In the other case, Ramachandra (57), a work inspector in the Gandhinagar engineering wing, died on Wednesday. Ramachandra was a resident of Seshadripuram and was working in ward No 77, Dattatreya Temple. He was admitted in Shrinivas Hospital in Cottonpet five days ago.
