New Karnataka order could be ‘milked’ by people to roam around!
Has the Karnataka government once again taken a step without thinking it through? Ostensibly to ease the hardships of families in procuring their daily quota of milk during the ongoing statewide lockdown, the government issued a fresh order on Thursday allowing milk parlours to stay open from 6 in the morning to 8 at night.
It’s a no-brainer that this new rule could be an open invitation to many people to move around during a large part of the day on the pretext of purchasing milk.
The order, issued by N Manjunatha Prasad, Revenue Principal Secretary and member-secretary, Karnataka State Disaster Management, applies only to milk parlours which belong to the Karnataka Milk Federation.
Prasad has directed the BBMP Chief Commissioner, the Bengaluru police commissioner and all other district Deputy Commissioners to ‘strictly comply’ with the order.
