In response to inquiries regarding his name being linked to D.K. Suresh and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in connection with the National Herald case, Shivakumar stated, "The National Herald is a newspaper operated by our party. Both Suresh and I contributed 25 lakhs to support it, and we also made donations from our trust."
During a press conference held at Vidhana Soudha following the cabinet meeting, D.K. Shivakumar elaborated on the decision. “Ramanagara will remain the district headquarters; only the name of the district has changed to Bangalore South. Previously, it was known as Bangalore district. This renaming has been undertaken to enhance administrative clarity, and I am pleased to share this update with you.”
