416 journalists are also ‘clear’

Amid the panic over the coronavirus, some welcome news is that  two cabinet ministers of Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and one Congress MLA have tested negative.

Sources said Medical Education and designated covid-19 Minister Dr K Sudhakar and Health Minister B Sriramulu had undergone testing at Victoria Hospital on Saturday. Their reports came negative.

“Both ministers had visited Victoria Hospital for a plasma therapy-related event and later agreed to be tested for Covid-19. Their reports have come on Sunday evening and both are negative,” said an official.

Meanwhile Congress MLA from Chamarajpet BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan, who was in the news after the trouble in the city’s Padarayanapura area, where more than 24 people were reportedly found positive,  underwent a test on April 23. He had attended the cremation of one of the Covid-19 positive cases from Tipu Nagar. Zameer was found negative.

Meanwhile, for the last 3 days journalists in Bengaluru are being tested. On Thursday, 120 journalists were tested, out of which a regional news channel video journalist was found positive.

On Friday, 297 journalists from different television and print media were tested and their reports on Sunday evening came negative. On Saturday, 345 journalists’ samples were collected and the reports are expected to come on Monday evening.
