At a review meeting of Tender Sure work undertaken by Bengaluru Smart City Ltd on Tuesday, BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad instructed the contractors to complete the 36 road projects within the stipulated timeframe. If there was a shortage of labour, they should deploy more manpower, he said.
Prasad told the Smart City Managing Director to hold a fortnightly review of all 36 packages, adding that contractors should be penalised if they do not speed up the work.
Safety measures must be adhered to, and there should be minimal inconvenience for motorists, he said.
Additional Chief Secretary (Urban Development Department) Rakesh Singh, Managing Director of Bengaluru Smart City Ltd Hepsiba Rani Korlapati, and participating contractors and engineers were present at the meeting.
