Bengaluru: Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar held a meeting with sugar mill owners at Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi on Monday.
The discussions covered sugarcane growers’ interests, an increase in the support price and various demands, according to the Chief Minister’s Office.
Ministers and other leaders attending included M. B. Patil, Satish Jarkiholi, N. Chaluvarayaswamy, S. S. Mallikarjun, Santosh Lad, Laxman Savadi and Vijayanand Kashappanavar.
The Chief Minister’s financial adviser, L. K. Atheeq, and Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Tushar Girinath, were also present, along with sugar mill owners.
The meeting followed Shivakumar’s remarks at Kittur on Sunday that he would hear the views of both growers and mill owners before deciding the next course of action.
