Samsung Wallet begins rolling out in eight new markets including India
Samsung Wallet, a secure, go-everywhere app that allows users to store and manage their digital tickets, boarding passes, coupons, loyalty cards, and more, is expanding to eight new markets, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan, the South Korean firm announced on Thursday.
The app will be released in these markets at the end of January, although the availability of certain features and compatible device models may differ by market and are subject to change.
The digital wallet platform is designed to make it easier for users to keep track of their digital tickets and loyalty cards, as well as to make it easier to access them when needed. It also allows users to store and manage their payment information, making it easier to make purchases with their Samsung Galaxy device.
Additionally, Samsung Wallet can be used to store and manage gift cards, allowing users to easily access them when needed.
No matter where you reside, it is essential to safeguard your personal data and information. Samsung Wallet takes extra steps to ensure your data is kept safe by storing it in a secure environment, where it is shielded from malicious software and other potential risks. It is protected by Samsung’s security platform, Knox, which includes fingerprint recognition and encryption to ensure that users’ important data are protected.
Commenting on this development, Jeanie Han, EVP and Head of Digital Wallet Team at Mobile eXperience Business, Samsung Electronics, said, “When Samsung launched Samsung Wallet last year, we committed to building the experience through open partnerships with our business and service providers and ensuring access to the platform for as many people as possible. Over the past several months, we’ve worked hard to rapidly expand the availability of Samsung Wallet, bringing the platform to more potential users. We look forward to sharing exciting new developments in the year ahead.”
