Rs 5 lakh compensation to treefall victim’s kin
BENGALURU:
Compensation of Rs 5 lakh was given by BBMP on Friday to the family of a woman who was killed on the spot when a branch fell on her at Devarachikkanahalli Main Road on May 26.
The tree was in the premises of a hostel run by the Department of Social Welfare in Bommanahalli zone . Hemamalini R, 49, was riding her two-wheeler when the branch fell on her.
BBMP handed over a cheque for Rs 5 lakh to her husband Naveen Kumar. Revenue Minister R Ashoka, Mayor M Gautham Kumar, MLA M Krishnappa, Deputy Mayor Ram Mohan Raju and Special Commissioner Anbu Kumar were present on the occasion.
