Karnataka reports 3,082 new cases, 12 deaths
BENGALURU:
For the first time, Bengaluru has crossed 2,000-plus Covid-19 positive cases in a single day this year, while the overall daily figure for Karnataka was 3,082, crossing the 3,000-plus mark for the first time.
Sunday also witnessed 7 deaths in Bengaluru Urban while the state saw 12 deaths overall. Of the other fatalities, two are from Mysuru and one each from Udupi, Tumkuru and Kalaburagi.

Sunday was the sixth consecutive day that Karnataka reported over 2,000 fresh cases. Sunday’s 3,082 new cases of Covid-19 take the total caseload statewide to 9,87,012 and the death toll to 12,504, the Health Department said.

In the districts where the new cases were reported, Bengaluru Urban accounted for 2,004, Kalaburagi 159, Udupi 115, Mysuru 114, Dakshina Kannada 68, Haasan 65, Bidar 63, Dharwad 60, Tumakuru 59 and Ballari 53, followed by others.
Out of the 23,037 active cases, 204 are in the ICU. In the last 24 hours, Karnataka has reported positive cases at 2.89 % while the state’s fatality rate is 0.38%.
