One Child Dies, 30 Relatives Injured After Mini Bus Plummets 100 Feet
BENGALURU: A tragic incident occurred in Chikkamagaluru when a mini bus carrying more than 30 members of the same family overturned near Baba Budangiri, resulting in the death of a young boy. The passengers, hailing from Adivala village in Chitradurga district, were on their way to Mullaiyanagari and Baba Budangiri for a day trip when the accident took place at Manikyadhara. The bus flipped over and landed almost 100 feet below the road surface.
Reports indicate that the injured individuals were immediately attended to by locals, police, and fellow tourists, who helped in rescuing them from the overturned bus. Among the injured, one boy’s condition was critical, and despite efforts to save him, he tragically passed away due to ineffective treatment.
The injured victims were promptly transported to the Chikmagalur district hospital for further medical attention. It is reported that many of them sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the hospital. The authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, and a case has been registered at the rural police station.
This unfortunate event serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for vigilance while traveling, especially on winding routes like the one leading to Baba Budangiri.
