Corona warriors will inaugurate fete, elephant Abhimanyu will carry howdah

This year the Dasara Mahotsav will be a simple affair, with the honour of inaugurating it going to a group of corona warriors.
The Dasara Jamboo Savari will arrive directly at the Mysore Palace premises at 12 noon on October 2, and there will be no ceremony at Hoshalli.
The jumbo procession will be limited to the Palace premises. Keeping the Covid protocol in mind, no more tha 2,000 people will be allowed to be part of the Dasara Mahotsav.

Cultural events pwill be held at the Palace premises and all programmes will be broadcast live. The fest will be inaugurated at Chamundi Hill on the morning of October 17 from 7.45 am to 8.15 am.
As per the Supreme Court’s directions, 60-year-old elephant Arjuna will not be not allowed to carry the ‘ambari’, which will be carried by Abhimanyu
Along with Abhimanyu, elephants Vikram, Gopi, Vijaya and Kaveri will take part in the Jamboo Savari, said District in-charge Minister ST Somashekhar after the Dasara Working Committee meeting at the Mysore Palace Board office on Saturday.
