Communal provocateurs leave chilling message on court wall

2nd disturbing incident after Friday’s graffiti ‘inviting’ terror groups

MANGALURU:

In a repeat of Friday’s provocative graffiti ‘inviting’ Islamist terror groups, another incendiary wall writing was noticed by locals in Mangaluru city on Sunday morning. This time, the mischief-mongers had even dared to put across their ‘message’ on the compound wall of an old police outpost building in the premises of the city court.

The graffiti reads, “Gustak e rasool ek hi saza, Sar tan say juda.” (Detractors of the Prophet…should be beheaded). The ‘message’ is a chilling reminder of the killing in October of a school teacher in France by an Islamist radical.

‘LeT, Taliban’ threat

On Friday, the compound wall of an apartment complex on Kadri Circuit House Road bore graffiti ‘inviting’ banned Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Toiba and the Afghanistan-based Taliban. It read, “Do not force us to invite…Lashkar-e-Toiba and Taliban…to deal with Sanghis and Manuvadis…#Lashkar Zindabad.”

In connection with the Friday incident, a case was registered at the Kadri police station. According to a police official, the incendiary graffiti mentioning these terror groups could be the handiwork of local provocateurs. The graffiti was removed, and footage from nearby CCTVs was obtained for investigation by the police.

Mumbai 26/11 connection?

Significantly, Friday’s incident coincided with the 12th anniversary of the 26/11/2008 Mumbai terror attacks by LeT operatives, which claimed 166 lives.

Following the incident, members of local RSS-affiliated groups staged protests and demanded the arrests of the hitherto unidentified suspects.
