Bengaluru: A gruesome murder rocked the Silicon City on Monday night as Shivakumar alias Bikkalu Shiva, a 40-year-old notorious rowdy-sheeter, was brutally hacked to death by a gang of assailants near the War Memorial Circle in Halasuru. The incident occurred when the victim was reportedly standing outside his house. He was attacked with lethal weapons and left in a pool of blood before the assailants fled the scene in a car.

The victim, a resident under the Bharati Nagar Police Station limits, was ambushed by a group of four to five attackers. According to police sources, they arrived in a car, swiftly launched the attack using machetes or sharp weapons, and escaped. Shivakumar succumbed to multiple fatal injuries inflicted by the gang.

Following the incident, senior officials including DCP Devaraj and Joint Commissioner Ramesh Banu visited the crime scene and conducted an initial inspection. The victim’s body has been shifted to a nearby hospital for autopsy and forensic analysis.

Earlier reports had identified Shivakumar as a notorious history-sheeter, with 11 criminal cases against him, ranging from assault to extortion. His rowdy-sheet was opened in 2006, and he was still active on police watchlists. He had also recently participated in a rowdy parade.

“Shivakumar was killed in a brutal, well-planned attack. The assailants came in a car and fled immediately after executing the crime. We are analyzing CCTV footage, gathering technical inputs, and verifying witness statements. The motive behind the murder is being probed,” said a senior officer.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the identities of the attackers remain unknown. Police believe personal enmity or gang rivalry could be the motive behind the murder. An FIR has been registered at Bharati Nagar Police Station, and a dedicated team has been tasked with investigating the case from all angles.

The police have vowed swift action and intensified the manhunt to track down the suspects. Further updates are awaited as the investigation unfolds.
