Bengaluru: Karnataka Rakshana Vedike leader T.A. Narayana Gowda said on Friday that he visited Kempegowda International Airport after complaints about the representation of Kannadigas in airport jobs. He said he sought fair employment opportunities for Kannadigas at a meeting with representatives of 14 organisations operating there.
Gowda said senior executives and human resources officials from airport management and companies including Air India, DHL Express, Blue Dart India and Menzies Aviation attended. He said local police officers were also present.

Gowda says companies discussed local hiring
According to Gowda, representatives said their organisations already employed local people and acknowledged that the number could be higher. He said they promised to increase local hiring within a year and invited him to return to review the progress. His post gave no hiring figures or targets and included no separate statement from an employer.
Gowda said the meeting was part of a Karnataka Rakshana Vedike campaign that had reached more than 350 organisations.
