BENGALURU: The High Court in Bengaluru has expressed its dissatisfaction with the state government for failing to provide an explanation regarding the authority granted to the Karnataka State Waqf Board to register Muslim marriages and issue marriage registration certificates to Muslim couples.
A division bench, led by Chief Justice N.V. Anjaria and Justice K.V. Aravind, presided over a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by A. Alam Pasha of Bengaluru.
