BJP veteran qualifies his prediction on ‘Nirani as CM’ by saying ‘I don’t know when’
Nirani will work for the welfare of backward groups in Karnataka, says Eshwarappa
BILAGI (BAGALKOT):
The ‘kissa kursi ka’ game within the Karnataka BJP continues to be alive and kicking! Now, Large and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani is being seen as a possible candidate for the Chief Minister’s chair! On Sunday, senior BJP leader and RDPR Minister KS Eshwarappa ‘predicted’ that Nirani would become the Chief Minister of Karnataka ‘one day’. The BJP veteran said Nirani had the capacity to become Chief Minister and would work for the welfare of backward communities and all sections of society.
Addressing BJP functionaries in a meeting organised by the BJP backward communities wing from Bagalkot and Vijayapura at Bilagi (Nirani’s assembly constituency), Eshwarappa said Nirani would soon become the Chief Minister amid thunderous applause from the latter’s supporters. “Murugesh Nirani will soon become the Chief Minister but I don’t know when. He has the capacity to become the Chief Minister and he can strive for the welfare of backward communities, the poor, the downtrodden and other sections,” Eshwarappa declared.

Bommai ‘spared’!
Seeking to allay any misconceptions vis-a-vis incumbent Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Eshwarappa wittily remarked that “Bommai will not be removed and Nirani will become Chief Minister when he gets a chance.”
Amid thunderous applause from party functionaries, Eshwarappa asked Nirani, who was sitting on the dais, whether he would render justice to the backward communities, upon which the Industries Minister stood up smiling and gave a thumbs-up sign. Eshwarappa said the BJP will sweep the next assembly polls and retain power in Karnataka.
