BENGALURU: A man allegedly attempted to murder a moneylender by setting fire to her house, pouring petrol on it after she asked for the repayment of Rs 5 lakh in Viveknagar area.
The incident occurred around 5.20 pm on July 1 and the the accused is Subramani while the lender is Venkataramani.
Venkataramani had asked Subramani to return the money she had given, but his wife Parvathi and their daughter threatened that they would not pay what they had borrowed for their daughter’s wedding. However, in a fit of rage, Subrahmani had decided to kill her.
Fortunately, Venkataramani and his family members escaped unhurt. The incident was captured on the house’s CCTV camera, which revealed Subramani’s involvement.
Venkataramani’s son has filed a complaint with the Viveknagar police station and an FIR has been registered. The police are now looking for the accused.
