Lokayukta Traps Madhugiri Revenue Official Nagesh Over Alleged ₹30,000 Bribe
Bengaluru: Tumakuru Lokayukta police took Nagesh, a village administrative officer and in-charge revenue inspector at Ganjalagunte in Madhugiri taluk, into custody after he allegedly accepted ₹30,000 from a complainant for issuing a powthi khatha, according to the Lokayukta police.
The police said the officer had demanded ₹1 lakh from Renukesh, a resident of Muddenahalli in Madhugiri taluk, for the pending khatha work.
A trap was laid on Thursday, and ₹30,000 allegedly accepted from the complainant was recovered, the police said.
The case has been registered as Crime No. 09/2026 under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018. Investigation is continuing.
Inspector Raju T led the trap operation, assisted by inspectors Nirmala and Shanthinath and other staff.
